Days of caves and karst
The Croatian Geotechnical Society supports the designating of September 13 as the day of caves and karst by UNESCO to help to raise global awareness about the importance of the environments that are not only of great scientific value but also play significant roles in biodiversity and habitat conservation, water resource management, cultural heritage protection, and educational initiatives worldwide..
The illustration made at the excellent exhibition of karst, EXPO, in Postojna, shows some of the possible influences of people to the water underground.
